A lifelong music lover, Maria never missed a classical concert. The works of the old masters made her heart soar. Other hearts will soar because Maria included a bequest to the symphony in her will. Thanks to Maria, her beloved orchestra won’t miss a beat. Include your favorite cause in your will or estate plan. A Gift from the Heart

He was a quiet farmer, dedicated to the land, his family, and his community.  W. Earl Dieffenderfer of Mazeppa continued his commitment to the Susquehanna Valley even after he passed away in June 2005 by leaving a bequest of nearly $750,000 to Evangelical Community Hospital.  The bequest will help establish the Hospital’s cardiac computed tomography (CT) program, which is a non-invasive diagnostic procedure to determine blockages in or around the heart.

“He was a very generous person, and believed in giving of himself to his friends and neighbors, and in living a simple life,” Jean Ruhl, Dieffenderfer’s nice, recalled fondly.  “But his generosity was kept very quiet.  That was just his way.  He felt that Evangelical provided a fine service to the community.” Ruhl continued.  “He wanted to give to provide for something that benefited the local people directly and protected the heritage of the area.  Providing for this new program made sense as Uncle Earl used the Hospital’s cardiac services during his life.”

“We are very grateful to Mr. Dieffenderfer for this generous give,” Hospital President Michael O’Keefe said.  “He has left a legacy that will serve many in our Valley for years to come.”
